Bhante Sujato is the first translator of the entire collection of the four main collection of the Buddha’s teachings (the Pali “Nikayas”). In this daylong he will share insights he has gained through this project. This will include discussing his approach to framing the 2,500 year old Buddhist teachings in a contemporary voice as well the broader historical context of the origin of these teachings in India. The day will include an introduction to the suttas and short periods of meditations.
Bring a bag lunch. There will be an opportunity to donate food for the meal offering to the monastics

Bhante Sujato is a senior teaching monk in Australia and the region. He is currently focussing on leading the team for SuttaCentral, a website for early Buddhist texts, translations, and parallels.
